Have you ever had that moment where you don’t think you have the strength, and so you pray to God for help, and over and over again He fills your heart with courage to just say YES? From things that other people say to you in conversation, verses you happen to read, from that song that *just* so happens to be on the radio right at that moment, that things are happening way too many times for them just to be a coincidence any longer?
Instead of saying yes to doing more, expecting more of yourself, filling up every single second of spare time you have with other things, what can you say no to, that you can choose to fill your cup up with something else?? Something that will fill your heart with more joy, that perhaps has nothing to do with work?
Today is my first day back home from the 2017 Society for Creative Founders Conference, and my mind is still swirling with everything that everyone shared and was learned. I was tremendously blessed to speak on the Core Module at this years conference experience, and I wanted to share a little bit of what I spoke on with all of you. I feel that this small dose of encouragement delivered in these loved Note of Grace posts is still so needed by so many, so I hope you will all continue to join me in reading these posts.
I think it is always so interesting to see and read about how people choose a word that represents what they hope the year will encompass. We are a few weeks into 2017 and I thought today would be the perfect day for sharing my reasoning behind choosing this one for the year. I've already noticed a difference in my general day to day and what I pay more attention to, so I am excited to have an entire year devoted to this, both personally and in my business.
Last year was a really big transitional year - from moving away from wedding planning (see more on that post here) to creating loved custom wedding invitation collections for so many amazing couples and also building my shop into what it is now (let alone raising two kids at home with me while all of this was happening too), it was filled with a lot of hectic, a lot of busy, and a lot of exhaustion, honestly. Even though my business turns seven this year (which is my lucky number, so it's got to be a good year!) in a lot of ways because of making the change from primarily wedding planning to wedding invitations + day-of items, there were a lot of new things I had to learn last year. Every day I worked on new ideas, new systems within the business and different details that I hadn't before.
Hi loves! Goodness I have been meaning to write this post for a long time. This weekend is the final weekend to register for the Society for Creative Founders Conference in March of 2017, and so it seemed like the absolutely perfect time to share my experience with this conference and why I love being a part of it so much.
My first time being a part of this conference was in July of 2015, at the Phoenix Session, back when it was called Stationery Academy. At the time, I was a wedding planner with hopes of someday being able to do invitation design full time, but there were so many things that I had to learn that I knew I needed to learn a lot more on the back end before I could make the switch. I can not express how much those four days in Phoenix changed me. I don't think I'll ever be able to really put into words the amount of things that I learned and how ready it made me to make the transition. It is the main reason that Grace & Serendipity is what it is today - there is no way you would see this website and these services being offered without this conference and community being such a big part of my creative business journey.
Hi! Oh goodness, I am so excited to be writing this post! I have been re-building my website for the last two weeks, and so to be writing this to you now has me giddy! You may notice that the site has a bit of a newer and cleaner look ... and that has been very intentional on my end. I almost feel like with where things are headed, a blank slate was necessary to start from. So, two weeks ago, I decided to say goodbye to my original site that has been with me since I started as a wedding planner six years ago, and build an entirely new one where I could focus more on the design side (and a few other secret not-to-be-known-yet items), and I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out! I hope that are with me on this, and that you love what you see!
It's part 2 for the 2016 Collection Posts for this week! Today, I am going to share a few favorite details with you about the DreamDoer Collection, which was designed for creatives and business owners. This is a part of the 2016 Collection that was designed for creatives and mamas. Each collection has 12-20 different pieces in it, and each one was created using the same basis for design so that you can mix and match as you’d like, and create a cohesive look in your home. There are four different collections in all … the Hey Mama Collection, the LifePlanned Collection, the Faith Full Collection, and the Dream Doer Collection. This post today will highlight a few favorite cards from the DreamDoer Collection, which was designed specifically for business owners and creatives …
