Katie and Brandon have that kind of love that is contagious – everyone around them can feel it. They had a beautiful, small and intimate wedding at a house in Destin, Florida on April 23, 2011. The weather was perfect, the guests danced the night away, and everything ran smoothly. There were so many cute details that they incorporated into the day, from including the way he proposed into the favors, to having her brother play the guitar as they were walking onto the beach for their ceremony music, it was just a perfect day.
Katie and Brandon chose to see each other before the ceremony ... this set of pictures says it all. Isn't his reaction just priceless?
Before the ceremony started and while the guests were walking down to the beach, they enjoyed a glass of wine and a few quiet moments to themselves. It was such a sweet time for them! Their wedding ceremony took place on the beach near the Crab Trap Restaurant, which was a short walk from the house. It was beautiful! Brandon's brother played “Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop” on his guitar as Katie walked down the aisle, and sounded fantastic. Everyone was feeling the sand between their toes as Katie and Brandon expressed their love with their vows and the exchanging of rings. Then, they had a wine box ceremony, where Katie, Brandon, and their parents placed love letters inside a box to be locked and opened on their one year anniversary. It also included a bottle of wine to savor the memories of their first year together.
After the reception, Katie and Brandon took a few moments to take some beautiful pictures, then continued on to the reception, which was in the driveway of the house.
The reception took place actually in the driveway of the house! Although this may sound odd, it was actually the perfect place for their guests - they had about 30 people there, and both houses on each side didn't have any guests there that evening. The driveway was really long as well, so they were nowhere near the road. We created a dinner area and a cozy lounge area in addition to the dance floor.
Their cake was made entirely of cake balls - and each piece was able to be eaten individually, similar to donut holes. It was delicious and all of the guests enjoyed it! When the garter toss and bouquet toss came, it was funny to see how the girls and the guys acted differently when it was tossed their way.
Katie and Brandon had some very cute details ... she created a sign to point guests in the right direction in addition to personalized napkins, a guest book where guests took Polaroid pictures and then wrote something, and ring pops as favors to symbolize how he proposed.
Everyone danced, cried, laughed, and had a fabulous time. After the reception, they continued late into the night on a party bus. This wedding will go down in the history books as a wonderful memory for all who were there.
Congratulations Katie and Brandon! I wish you many years of happiness!
