Laura and David's wedding is right around the corner, and I am so excited to see these two tie the knot! We've been working together planning their wedding for a little over a year, and we have had a blast doing so! Every meeting we have had, Laura and David have both been there together every single time, and these two have such strong love and respect for each other in addition to having such an amazing sense of humor with each other that every meeting was always filled with laughter sprinkled in, as they are just plain fun to be around! Their wedding day is filled with fun personal touches and small details that will share their personalities with their guests and I can't wait for it to be here.
Thank you SO much to Ashley Victoria Photography for sharing their engagement photos with me, and I can't wait to see how you capture their wedding day!
Below is Laura and David's Love Story ... enjoy!
How did you two meet?
We met on a city kickball league. We were on the same team for a season and a half before we "noticed" each other.
Laura, when did you know that HE was the one for you?
Very early on in our relationship, when he was kind, thoughtful, and allowed things to move at my pace. He didn't try to change me. I knew I never wanted to live life without him.
David, when did you know that SHE was the one for you?
Almost right away. Being with her is an indescribable feeling and I could't imagine not having her in my life.
So how did he pop the question?? Were you surprised? Did you have any idea?? Where were you when it happened?
He asked me on the 23rd of December, when we were exchanging our gifts to each other before spending the holidays with family. I was surprised because he handed me a huge box, but then there was a smaller box inside, and so on. When I got to the smallest box, there was still no ring in all that tissue paper. By then he was down on one knee behind me, holding the ring. I had an idea, because I picked out the ring... but months earlier. I was getting impatient!
When and where are you going to tie the knot? What made you decide on that time of year or location?
In mid-March of 2015! It was first available and not in potential freezing weather at Sanders Beach, which we fell in love with. Water without sand and a huge ballroom for dancing! We're also pretty excited to have Pi Day be our date!
Describe your wedding in three words.
Sophisticated, classy, but fun!
Now, share the details! Do you have a theme, or design, or feeling you want your wedding day to encompass?
Black and white stripes with bright florals. We just want everyone to have a great time!
Out of everything, what is the MOST important to the two of you on your wedding day (other than becoming husband and wife!)?
Having our family and friends there to share the excitement!
Do you have a favorite wedding blog or magazine?
What have you loved most about planning your wedding?
Being creative and dreaming up fresh ways to do old things, like having a photobooth to take pictures for our guestbook. Also crafting: I made 20 tablerunners and a photobooth backdrop. I've also made a pomander for our flower girl and will be making a monogram letter out of flowers.
What has been the most difficult part when it comes to planning?
Finding the time to make phone calls when working 8-5! Trying to narrow down equally qualified lists of vendors (and finding time to meet with a couple in each category).
Have you always dreamed about your wedding day? Or, was the day you got engaged when you first started thinking about it?
I had some general ideas, but I never dreamt about it too much or had any set ideas other than wanting to make sure it was a party that everyone would enjoy!
Are you going to celebrate with a honeymoon after your wedding? If so, where are you headed?
We are headed to an all-inclusive called El Dorado Casitas in Cancun, Mexico. We have our own swim-up infinity pool from the main lazy river!
Laura, what makes you most excited about becoming David's wife?
That we will be joined together always and can grow old together. I waited a long time for someone that was perfect for me, and he is! I've had the security that he gives me for a while now.
David, what makes you most excited about becoming Laura's husband?
Experiencing life together in a whole new way. Every moment is better when it's experienced with her. She makes even the mundane infinitely better.
When it comes to marriage and your life together, what are you looking forward to the most?
All the big and little things, from traveling to a lazy morning on the couch. Everything we do is more fun when the other is around.
Picture your lives five years from now. Where do you see yourselves, what do you see happening in your lives together?
Maybe a kid? Definitely a lot more travel. We'll have a house that's "ours" not just "one of ours." We will still be in Pensacola, God willing.
Do you have any advice for newly engaged brides, or those in the middle of planning?
Hire a planner, especially if you work full time! They help so much with all the little questions you don't even know you'll have. Give yourself close to a year to plan (no less), and write every little thought and question down in one book, so you remember what to ask each vendor, planner, or officiant.
Congratulations to you both on finding the one your soul loves ... we all can't wait to see you both say "I Do", and see everything all put together from this past year of planning! Enjoy these last few days of being engaged before your big day!
