This year, it seems like Thanksgiving just snuck up on us! I know it technically comes at the same time every year, but this year, it seems like I blinked and all of a sudden the end of November was here!
When I was a teacher, I looked forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas every year as I loved doing art activities with kids - I found that I had more activities to do with them in these few weeks in my file folders than I had reserved for the entire year. (any other teachers feel that way?!) Now that I have kiddos of my own, I love creating these little memories with them, that someday we will be able to look back on and smile.
A friend of mine has done a painted turkey hand with her daughter every year for the last four years, and she shared it on Facebook last week - it was amazing to see how much just her hand has grown in the last four years. I was lucky enough that my daughter made one at her preschool this year, but we are going to do a few other activities on Wednesday and Thursday as well. Below are a few of the favorites that I found for you to do with your kiddos as well. Have a fantastic Thanksgiving week, and have fun doing these activities with your kids, making memories that will last and having fun while you're doing it!
I love the idea of using the Thankful Tree as a centerpiece for your Thanksgiving table, and doing the Thanksgiving Mad Libs (they are a free printable!) with your kiddos at the table, either before or after the meal when you all are relaxing together.
May your Thanksgiving be a fabulous one, and enjoy having some crafty fun with your kiddos!
