To Dancing Through Life

In October of 2010, after taking a huge leap of faith, I decided to start the journey into entrepreneurship as a wedding planner.  Two years in, I felt my first letterpress invitation in my hands and fell in love.  I taught myself graphic design and began offering invitation design services to my brides, developing a style that I love to consider my own.  In the last seven years, I have been in the world of weddings with so many amazing couples, and have loved every minute of it.  Being a part of a wedding day whether on the planning side or invitation design aspect of it has been filled with so much love for so many people and moments, and I am so grateful for social media so that I can continue to keep in touch with people who I witnessed say their I Dos, whether it was a year ago or seven.

However, since everything began, I have also become a mom to my two littles, who are now two and five. Life has changed so much, and my days that were once filled with dreaming about weddings is now filled with dreaming up new activities and art projects to do with my kids.   My days now also consist of encouraging fellow moms and business owners, creating products that pull on your heartstrings, and I've found myself continually wanting to share more and more of this side of things and make it a part of my business as well.  So, although I love so much of what weddings encompass, I will be shifting my business beginning this fall to encompass more of this into this business too.

Dance Through Life. Post by Grace and Serendipity

In writing this post, I keep coming back to that one fateful day back in May of 2015 where I heard “I made you for more than weddings.”  And when you keep hearing and seeing that phrase appear in different ways over and over again, you eventually have to make the decision to listen to that voice.  So with that said, it’s time to make a change. One that is incredibly bittersweet, but moving forward, is definitely right.

Beginning in the fall of this year, Grace and Serendipity will have products consisting of items that will be designed for the oh so heart-burstingly happy and emotional moments that encompass the days of our lives. Creating activities for moms to do with their littles, loved products for women to gift to each other, and items to help us all to live a happier, more organized life while taking better care of ourselves too. Life is messy, but finding the joy in the journey in the middle of the chaos is so important.  I want to help women to see the love surrounding us in the middle of the everyday, when it’s so easy to just let it slip by.  To encourage and equip women with ways to live a life well loved, one filled with grace and memory making and laughter and joy.

The Grace and Serendipity Shop is going to be re-opened, and will make it’s “return” debut with a few select items on November 15th of this year, in addition to a curated holiday collection.  So to those of you who have been asking for mugs and cards and prints for your friends for the holidays, yes, you will be able to purchase them for Christmas this year!

There is a lot more to this, but for today, I want to keep this short and sweet, so just know this.  My time in the world of weddings is a time I have truly, truly loved. To those of you who have been a part of this with me, thank you so much. I have loved working with every single one of you. This quote below has come to mind continually lately.   I definitely think I'm choosing to dance here today.

Dance through life.  When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor.  It's to enjoy each step along the way.
