I am SO excited to be sharing this post with you today! There are so many amazing small businesses out there, and this season, I really want you to encourage to shop small. Below are ten amazing businesses that all offer products that have been designed or created to make life more organized, adventurous, pretty, or just plain fun, and they all make fantastic gifts for people in your life. There is such a wide variety that I am hoping you will find something for someone on your list (and perhaps even something for yourself)!
I have to admit it. I am a complete sucker for The Bachelor. I wouldn't go so far as to call myself part of "The Bachelor Nation", but every year, I try to tell myself that I don't need to watch the show, (much voiced by my husband, who is definitely not a fan), but then, every year I get totally tangled back up into the unrealistic beautiful fairytale that is The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. (and I think that Sean and Catherine may be my favorite couple from that show yet.)
Happy Wedding Wednesday everyone! Starting this year, I actually have a blog schedule written for the year which consists of so much more variety than this blog has had in the past. AND, this morning, we are starting with a trend that I am starting to hear about more and more when it comes to wedding cakes. I think it's perhaps because brides are always looking for something that's different in their eyes than what everyone else has done - but this is a trend that I think has real staying power potential.
The Naked Cake.
When you hear that, what comes to mind? It's funny, because I actually had to think about it for a while myself - but when I got online to google it (yes, I really did that), I saw a photo of one that was really unique and I was immediately intrigued. This one to the left that Style Me Pretty has on their site immediately made me swoon.
This is something that can look so pretty - as long as it is done well. Can you imagine how much work goes into one of these? I personally love the look of the one to the left, but also the ones in the collage below. So simple, but so pretty. With a few flowers placed just right and some masterful icing adjusting between the layers, perhaps adding a dash of powdered sugar, and your wedding cake is ready to go. I love the versatility that you can have with these. Especially the fact that guests can actually see the flavors that the cake will be - no more guessing and wondering, because it is right there for you to see.
What are your thoughts on the naked wedding cake? Is it a trend that you will try at your own wedding, or hope to see at one where you will be a guest? Or are you wanting to stay with the more traditional wedding cake? I'd love to hear what you think on this one!
