Brie and Robert's wedding day has finally arrived!  I know that I say this every time, but I am so excited for their wedding today.  As always. :) Brie is one of the sweetest brides I know, and this entire time planning has just been fun.  She and I have many things in common, including our love of Kate Spade and all things pink, and so that has definitely added to everything as we've been going along.  Their wedding is one that I think will go down on my list as one of the prettiest I've ever had the privilege to be a part of, and an amazing way to finish out the year of 2015.

Of course, a great big thank you to Petra Huetzen Journalism and Photography for sharing their engagement photos and for traveling all the way from Germany, I can not wait to see how you capture their day!

So without further adieu, please read more on these two sweethearts, written from Brie's perspective ... and then I hope to see you back here at the blog after their wedding day to share some of the amazing details of the day!

.............................

How did you two meet?We met back in college. Robert used to walk me to my car after a night class each week. After graduation, we met up again at a committee meeting and started spending time together. Soon after, we were meeting every night.

When did you know that Robert was the one for you?  I don't think there was one particular moment where I knew he was the one. Over time I realized many great things about him that I fell in love with. He is honest and loyal, kind, and would do just about anything for me. He challenges me intellectually and has helped me run and grow a business I started, that is now a joint venture. It has certainly been a fun journey.

How did he pop the question?  Share all the details!

Last year, in October, we went on a trip to Hawaii. I hoped that he would pop the question at some point on the trip. We went to Oahu for four days and then to Maui. We had a wonderful trip and I woke up the last morning to a beautiful ring! Even though I hoped he would propose on the trip, I was surprised that morning. It was an amazing trip that I will always remember.

When is your wedding taking place?

Our wedding ceremony will be held at a catholic church in Pensacola, in the evening after dark, and our reception will be in downtown Pensacola. I wanted to be able to use beautiful candlelight at the ceremony.  I've always wanted to get married at Christmas time. It is truly my favorite time of year. Having it at this time also allows our family to come and visit with us from Michigan. We are very excited about spending our first Christmas here in Florida after moving from Michigan twenty five years ago!

Describe your wedding in three words.

Sparkly, dazzling, and stunning

Now, share the details! Do you have a theme, or design, or feeling you want your wedding day to encompass?

We can't wait to see how it all comes together! Everything is white and blush. In addition, we are using metallic accents in gold, silver, and rose gold. Since the wedding is at Christmas, there will also be little pops of red in the details. We wanted it to have the feeling of being the holidays without being over the top.

Out of everything, what is the MOST important to the two of you on your wedding day (other than becoming husband and wife!)?

We really want to enjoy the day and have it represent us. We want to spend time with family and friends and celebrate our big day!

Do you have a favorite wedding blog or magazine? If so, what is it?

Southern Weddings

and

Grace Ormonde

are two of my favorite magazines. I really enjoyed

Every Last Detail's

blog as well.

What have you loved most about planning your wedding?

Everything! This has been such a fun experience planning our wedding. It will be so great to see all the details come together that day. Picking flowers, cakes, linens, and furniture were all fun. Searching and creating unique ideas to add personal touches has been the most fun!

What has been the most difficult part when it comes to planning?

Time. We work crazy hours, so the most challenging part to planning was finding time to meet with vendors. Having a coordinator was the best decision we made. There is no way we could've gotten everything we wanted doing it ourselves.

Have you always dreamed about your wedding day? Or, was the day you got engaged when you first started thinking about it?

I have always dreamed of my wedding day. I've always wanted to get married around the holidays too. Lucky for me, the timing worked out and I am getting the wedding of my dreams.

Are you going to celebrate with a honeymoon after your wedding? If so, where are you headed?

We are going on a honeymoon, and so excited about our adventure. We are headed to New York for New Years Eve. We've already gotten tickets for a party in Times Square to watch the ball drop.

What makes you most excited about becoming Robert's wife?

I am most excited about officially being married. Even though its a ton of work, I'm excited to change my name and truly be husband and wife.

When it comes to marriage and your life together, what are you looking forward to the most?

Our next project is to renovate our house. I am looking forward to making a home together.

Picture your lives five years from now. Where do you see yourselves, what do you see happening in your lives together?

We love to travel and see new places, so hopefully we are still exploring new cities and visiting our favorites. There are still a lot of places on our list. We have built a beautiful home together and are settled in.

Do you have any advice for newly engaged brides, or those in the middle of planning?

Try to enjoy every moment of it. Even when you are stressed, take a step back and realize that this is supposed to be fun! The time flies by and we have truly enjoyed planning our wedding. I'm glad that we had a little over a year to put everything together. It allowed us to take our time and enjoy the tastings, meetings, and shopping!

Jessi and Joseph's Love Story

These two.  Seriously, Jessi is one of the sweetest, kindest, most excited and organized brides that I've worked with to plan a wedding day.  I have only met Joseph once, so have primarily been planning with Jessi and her mom to create one gorgeous wedding day that you will not want to miss.   These two have such a cute history together and I know they're so excited to be husband and wife.  Instead of me continuing on, read below to learn more about this cute couple and their wedding day that will be here before we know it.  Thanks also to Jeremy with Cook Images for sharing their engagement pictures, I can't wait to work with you again on their wedding day. How did you two meet?  Joseph and I met in high school. Joseph was a senior and I was a junior. We had several mutual friends, but hadn't ever met each other. One night we both attended a school play, I was sitting at a table in front of Joseph, and in the middle of the play he started throwing paper balls at me... We chatted after the play and began talking more and more after that, and the rest is history!

Jessi, when did you know that HE was the one for you?  It's hard to pinpoint the exact time. It was more of a gradual progression of things. It started to become second nature that he was always there, and when I couldn't imagine my future without him being in it, I just knew that he was the one.

Joseph, when did you know she was the one? I agree with her, it was just that comfortable feeling where everything flowed together so well. We never fight, and I reached the point where there was no other person I could see myself with. When i thought about the future, she was in it, and I just knew. When i told her i loved her for the first time, I kind of already knew that she was who I would spend the rest of my life with.

How did he pop the question?  Joseph's birthday is October 8, so the weekend of October 10 I came home from college and Joseph said we were going to go out to the beach to have a birthday dinner with some of his friends at a nice restaurant. I didn't think anything of it honestly. We drove out to the beach and were meeting his friends at their condo at Portofino. We got to their condo and they said they were almost ready, for us to just wait out on the balcony. We walked outside and the sun was setting, and I was trying to take a picture of how pretty it was over the water. Joseph had walked to the ledge of the balcony and told me to come over there and to look down (we were at least 15 stories up). I looked down, and there was a huge sign that said "Marry me?" I turned around and Joseph was on one knee, pulled out the most beautiful ring I'd ever seen, and asked me to marry him! It was perfect and I was so surprised! He put so much thought into planning it and that made it even more special!

Share a few favorite things about your wedding day! We are getting married at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Pensacola, FL. I grew up in that church, so it's a very special place for me and where I have always imagined getting married. Our reception will be at 5eleven Palafox in downtown Pensacola. We chose that venue because we loved the rustic look of it and the history the building had. We are getting married in the beginning of August. To be totally honest, we picked that time of the year because we wanted to get married before football season started. Joseph and I both went to The University of Alabama, so getting married on a Saturday that conflicts with any SEC football game just wasn't an option! ;)

Describe your wedding in three words: Sweet, rustic, fun! Our colors are mint, gold, and shades of pink. We are incorporating lots of soft floral designs. We will have some vintage aspects, as well as some rustic themes.

Out of everything, what is the most important to the two of you on your wedding day (other than becoming husband and wife!)?  I just want Joseph and I, as well as our guests, to have a really relaxed and fun time!

What have you loved most about planning your wedding?  I loved that I have gotten to really express myself through my wedding decor and knowing that at the end of this Joseph and I will be married!

What has been the most difficult part? Deciding on colors to use was definitely the hardest part of the process for me.

Have you always dreamed about your wedding day?  Or, was the day you got engaged when you first started thinking about it?  Yes, I have always dreamed of it! I didn't have everything planned out, but I knew the style of wedding and reception I wanted.

Where are you headed for your honeymoon?We are heading to an all-inclusive resort in Jamaica! Neither of us have ever been out of the country, so we are really excited about that aspect. We wanted to go somewhere relaxing and tropical where we wouldn't have to worry about anything at all that week.

What makes you most excited about being Joseph’s wife?  I'm really excited to spend everyday with him. I'm looking forward to all the little things like having a lazy day around the house as well as the big things like starting a family with him. We have been dating for close to five years now, so it will be great to take this step in our relationship.

Joseph, what makes you excited about being Jessi’s husband?  Just starting the next step of our lives together. We've known for so long that we were going to be together that it's just a relief to be able to live together and be married.

When it comes to marriage and your life together, what are the two of you looking forward to the most? I think just getting to experience all of life's adventures together.

Picture your lives five years from now.  Where do you see yourselves, what do you see happening in your lives together? We hope to still be in Pensacola, living in a home we love and have made "ours", and making plans for a family together.

Do you have any advice for newly engaged brides, or those in the middle of planning? My advice is to get everything done as far in advance as possible. That way vendors have openings, and you don't have to settle for something you'll be unhappy with. It's been great to be able to enjoy the last few months of our engagement without having to stress over those things. Another thing I highly recommend is hiring Kristin as your wedding planner! As soon as I met her, I could tell she just "got" me and what we wanted our wedding to encompass, which was such a huge relief and something I had been struggling with! I have no doubt she will make our wedding day as stress-free and as perfect as possible!

Welcome to the World, Aiden.

Hi all!  I can not believe that it has been almost two months since I have blogged anything.  I have truly, truly missed it, and am so glad to be typing away on my keyboard to you as we speak.  I do think I have a pretty good reason for my absence ... I became a mama to the most handsome little fella in the world on February 20th of this year.

Laura and David's Love Story

Laura and David's wedding is right around the corner, and I am so excited to see these two tie the knot!  We've been working together planning their wedding for a little over a year, and we have had a blast doing so!  Every meeting we have had, Laura and David have both been there together every single time, and these two have such strong love and respect for each other in addition to having such an amazing sense of humor with each other that every meeting was always filled with laughter sprinkled in, as they are just plain fun to be around!  Their wedding day is filled with fun personal touches and small details that will share their personalities with their guests and I can't wait for it to be here.

{ Ashley and Brett } Pensacola Country Club Wedding

I am so excited to share details from Ashley and Brett's wedding day with you today!  Their wedding was one of those "perfect day out of a fairytale" kinds of wedding days.  The two of them are so kind, caring, and truly genuine people that it was an absolute pleasure and joy working with them to plan their wedding day.  The moment that we started chatting at our initial meeting, I knew that their wedding day would be one filled with character but also with love ... because these two have *that* special kind of love - the kind that fills a room, the kind that makes you melt when you see the two of them together. Their wedding day took place at the Pensacola Country Club, and they were joined by 100 of their closest friends and family.

2015 Beautiful Beginnings Bridal Expo in Pensacola, Florida

The Beautiful Beginnings Bridal Expo, put on by the Bridal Loft in Pensacola, Florida, is something I look forward to every year as a wedding planner.  There are so many brides that I get to chat with, and I love it.  I get to see the excitement in their eyes, hear what they have planned for their wedding day, sometimes hear proposal stories, and I also get to chat with vendors both that I have worked with numerous times, and meet new ones as well.  It is something I look forward to every January, and am so glad to get to be a part of it every year.

Color Palettes: Pantone's 2015 Color of the Year, Marsala! {part 2}

Color Palettes: Pantone's 2015 Color of the Year, Marsala! {part 2}

Hooray for Part Two of this Blog Post incorporating Pantone's Color of the Year for 2015, Marsala!  When I was putting this grouping together and saw all of the different boards together, I knew that it would be better suited to be split into two different posts.  So today, I'm bringing you four more ideas, that incorporate blues, pinks and greens into the marsala derived color inspiration.  This color can be incorporated into so many hues - from the deeper reds to the rustier reds that I decided to design them with the deep burgundy and purplish elements that are in this same color family.

For Part One of this post, please click here.  For Pantone's full list of 2015 Color Trends that they anticipate seeing, please click here to see the full palette of color prettiness.

Color Palettes: Pantone's 2015 Color of the Year, Marsala! {part 1}

Color Palettes:  Pantone's 2015 Color of the Year, Marsala! {part 1}

When I saw that Pantone had chosen their color of the year for 2015 to be Marsala, my mind instantly started swirling with ideas.  There are SO many different color palettes that you can create using this color, and every single one of them screams romance.  It may look like a bit of a rust red color, but I chose to use it as an inspirational color and design a few inspiration boards using the color hues in this color, incorporating the deep berry reds that are also in this color family, with burgundy, aubergine, maroons, and created a few different boards for you to use as inspiration for your wedding, if you'd like to incorporate this color!
