It seems that on New Years Eve, everything is all about the sparkle, glitz, and glamour that the new year entails.  Everywhere you turn that night, you see girls (and some guys!) shining brightly with glitter shoes, shimmery tank tops, shiny nails, dresses, and you even top the night off with fireworks!  That is where this post is inspired from ... because we all know, some girls are born with glitter in their veins, and when it comes to weddings, all that sparkles and glitters makes the littlest details just that much prettier.  Enjoy some of our favorite photographed details of sparkly beauty that you can incorporate into your wedding day!

Earlier this week, my sweet little girl came home from school and her first question was "how is Eva today, mommy?" A girl she's never met, who lives a thousand miles away, and this was her first question after her day at school. I shared a few recent photos and updates that @lindsayletters.co and @dugansherbondy have so graciously been sharing, and when watching a few IG stories, she asked "why do so many people have Eva Love" written on their hands? I explained that it was to help them to remember to pray for her, to help her to feel better. She then ran to get one of her coloring books and asked me to tear out this page. She sat at the kitchen table with markers spread out everywhere, and letter by letter, line by line, colored this paper in silence. "Mommy, can we send this to her?" I may have started crying right then and there. I remembered seeing an address they had shared a few days before, so we picked out an envelope (purple, of course), she wrote her name on the envelope (in purple, of course), she added about a dozen of her favorite stickers to the back of the envelope, and asked to go put it into the mailbox. Y'all. My mama heart couldn't even handle it. There is something so amazing about the GOOD things that can come from social media sometimes. It allows us to stay updated about a family we don't know personally but want to be there for in whatever ways we can. It allows us to come together across the WORLD (seriously, how amazing is that) for people to pray for them. And it allows our children to see other people doing good things, encouraging them to add their own good into the world, even sending love literally in the mail to another person. We've never done something like this before but I have to say, it was pretty darn amazing to witness my seven year old wanting to. And I can only hope that the little girl we all have been praying for feels all of that love, and that her family does too. Continuing to send prayers and love, Sherbondy family. ❤️ #prayersforeva
Tomorrow morning, I am launching a course for @creativefounders. Originally when I mapped it out, it was supposed to launch today.⠀ ⠀ Today being September 11th.⠀ ⠀ And without even a second thought, it was automatically moved to tomorrow.⠀ ⠀ Because this date holds so much importance for our history, for our nation, for our hearts and our homes and our lives.⠀ ⠀ Because every time I see the date of 9/11 come up on my calendar, my heart still sinks.⠀ ⠀ I still can’t say those two dates together without my mind always going to what took place on this day 18 years ago.⠀ ⠀ Eighteen years ago today, I still vividly remember coming up the stairs to my mom first thing in the morning with a completely distraught look, tears streaming down her cheeks, sitting on our couch, telling me “the Twin Towers are falling!” in a voice I’d never heard before, but not really understanding what exactly was going on.⠀ ⠀ Until I got into my car to drive to my college class, turned the key, and heard about it on the radio.⠀ ⠀ And heard channel after channel after channel talking about it.⠀ ⠀ Arriving at my class on my college campus to see everyone gathered around the one TV in the hallway, and then shortly after hearing over the intercom that all classes were cancelled for the day.⠀ ⠀ To have my friend who was in the Reserves tell me that he had just been “called up” and run out of the building to report for duty.⠀ ⠀ This is a day I’ll never forget.⠀ ⠀ A time in our country that I hope we never forget.⠀ ⠀ A time that every single year, I will remember where I was when the world stopped turning that September day, one that I will always hold as a special day, one that I will always, always, remember.⠀ ⠀ So today, if you happen to spend time with me on my Instagram stories and see me smiling, also know that it is not beyond me that today is September 11th, today is Patriot Day, and today will forever be a day I hold in my heart with a certain sense of somber along with so many of us across our country as well.⠀ ⠀ Help us all to never forget and to join together once more as we were that September day … where were you on September 11th, 2001?
🍋 | Sooooo....a few weeks ago in my Instagram stories I shared about my love for lemons. I don’t know why but I think they are actually “cute fruits”. Plus, my favorite cake is a lemon cake and my favorite cookies are lemon flavored, so hey, why not add a lemon tree to our yard in order to have lemons on hand more easily for cooking with?? 😂⠀ ⠀ The one we bought has a few lemons that are almost ready and you can bet that I’m pretty excited for it. Swipe right for a close-up of them!⠀ ⠀ We are going to get a companion fruit tree in the weeks ahead to help with cross-pollination - should we get a lime tree or tangerine tree to go with it?? 🍋💕
Y'all, my 4 year old son told me that I need to write more letters that aren't "swirly, girly, and curly".😂⠀ ⠀ SO. The entire month of September is dedicated to learning fun and different ways to draw block letters, along with learning ombré shading too. How often do you go back and reflect on the positive happenings the month included?⠀ ⠀ This is something that I do the last Friday of each month in a journal, but today I wanted to share a few of these thoughts with you as a different way to do a #fridayintroductions. Here's August!⠀ ⠀ 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 | 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁⠀ ⠀ Personal Focus: health, home, hobbies⠀ @creativefounders / Biz focus: conference, community, course⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 | I have long battled migraines and for the last few months, have had them 2-3 times per week. Something needed to change where I wasn't always looking to medicine to take care of it, so looked at a food change.⠀ ⠀ 5 weeks ago I started doing Keto and haven't had one migraine or even a headache since.⠀ ⠀ I also got back into a workout routine and signed up for a half marathon taking place on November 3 of this year. Woo!⠀ ⠀ 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 | Y'all. I watched ONE Marie Kondo episode on Netflix and a switch flipped. 😂⠀ ⠀ In August, we organized these areas in our home:⠀ ◽bathrooms⠀ ◽laundry room⠀ ◽kitchen⠀ ◽hall closet⠀ ◽kids playroom⠀ ⠀ My closet is the first thing getting tackled in September. Oy. 🤣⠀ ⠀ 𝗛𝗼𝗯𝗯𝗶𝗲𝘀 | I decided I no longer wanted to only talk about missing hobbies, and actually start DOING them again. I made a habit tracker in my bullet journal and have now sketched, lettered, or read every single day this month. Her creativity is the reason I started having so much FUN with art and learned to be myself when creating things I was passionate about, and her pieces have a place in our home year round. This is a week where I am grateful for social media to be able to keep up with happenings for a family I've never met, but feel connected to in such an incredible way. My heart has been heavy since seeing what is happening for Eva after a traumatic brain injury from a fall on August 22nd as I know many of yours have been as well, and all of us are hoping for a miracle. I have been trying to think of the words to write to share what's on my heart with all of you and the only ones that keep coming to me over and over again are "please pray for Eva". . As Lindsay shared in a recent post, "when I feel weak and scared, this huge army of people around us, showering Eva Love with prayer, lifts us up. Gives words when we have none. Speaks fresh life. We read them over her when those number creep up, and we can feel Angels intervening through your prayers and scripture and hope!!!!" . Are you a print collector? Meaning, do you have a collection of 5x7 or 8x10 prints that you like to display in your home and switch out during the year? . 🙋🏼‍♀️ Hands up if you fall into this category with me. Perhaps it's because I'm surrounded by so many creative artists and designers on a daily basis, but having a way that I could keep our purchased prints in pristine condition and not get misplaced is important to me. Enter, expanding flexible file organizers (with a flat bottom so things don't curve inside!). I found two blush beauties at @homegoods and knew they would be perfect for this purpose exactly. One is categorized by season, the other by size. For the seasonal folder, two "slots" are dedicated to Spring, two to Summer, two to Fall, and two to Winter. This way, when it's fall, I know exactly where all of our 5x7 or 8x10 fall prints are, so that I can switch out my frames easily or add prints to them to have for the next year if they were a late season purchase. Each seasonal section is then divided by 5x7 or 8x10 and Kids Artwork. Because we all know that especially when it comes to our littles keepsakes, the last thing we want is to find their adorable footprint Valentine's painting they created that we were looking for to display in February, in July. The other one is in my office (shown here), with collections of prints I've received or purchased from fellow business owners over the years. These are displayed on my gallery wall, and I switch them out 3-4 times per year. This folder is also (usually) organized by size, from 3.5x5 to 8x10. This way it makes it really easy to find the size I'm looking for. We're all about easy and compact organization here. And this is one of my favorites. . 💃💃I’ll admit, I truly love doing things like this. I used to tell myself I was too "busy" to make cookies for my kids. I grew up having the sweetest mom of my own who was in the kitchen a lot - she worked really hard at making good (and fun) snacks and dinners for us.⠀ ⠀ Now, years later, as my own kids were growing, I wanted to do things like that for them too.⠀ ⠀ But when I would think about it, I would immediately think the "I'm too busy" excuse.⠀ ⠀ And so instead of making it something I would do, I would put it off into the "someday when I’m not so busy” collection in my head.⠀ ⠀ I didn't *need* to be that mom, it didn't matter that I *wanted* to be that mom, because I thought I was too *busy* to be that mom.⠀ ⠀ And then I saw this quote.⠀ ⠀ "The key is not to prioritize what's on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities."⠀ ⠀ And it jabbed at my mama heart like whoa.⠀ ⠀ The truth of the matter is, I truly *love* being the mom that makes cookies and fun treats for her kids. Who is silly as can be, who dances and giggles around the house with them, who can watch Frozen with her kids on a Tuesday at 2 for the thousandth time, while maintaining a happy harmony with "busy" as well.⠀ ⠀ So a few weeks ago, I added in personal kiddo priorities to Asana, which is where I house all things business. I added dates and times to each of the things we wanted to do, and you know what was at the top of that list?? Making cookies for my littles.⠀ ⠀ The first day that my daughter came home from school, she was SO excited to see them on the counter as she nibbled on one and we sat and talked about her day.⠀ ⠀ And today, we made my son his special dairy free favorites since it's his first day of preschool, so that he could have that special moment with his mama talking about his first day too.⠀ ⠀ These are the things I'm prioritizing to turn into traditions, that I want to develop more of in our family.⠀ ⠀ I used to think I was the "too busy" mom to make cookies for my kids - but all it truly took was rearranging my priorities.⠀ ⠀ So today, let's chat about this together.
